Parents' argumentative behavior has been blamed for influencing their children's troubled behavior. A new study indicates that it may not be the behavior as much as the genetic tendency to argue that is passed on to offspring, say researchers at the University of Virginia. Published in the journal Child Development, the results suggest that focusing on the child's behavior may be more productive than looking at the parents' actions.
